Question Low heat only
Brand: Estate
Model Number: tedx640eq2
Age: 5 - 10 years

My dryer will only put out low heat. Clothes take several cycles to dry. I've checked continuity and everything seems ok. Everything is clean, no lint in the exhaust or intake, heaters are clean. I did some tests disconnecting wires from the timer, I can get high heat by leaving one of the wires off. So I'm thing I've got a bad timer. Would something else in the system cause this? Should I get a new thermostat while I have it apart?

You will need a meter to check this out, otherwise we all are just guessing what is wrong. But without meter a visual check for burnt wires might be successfull. Also take apart timer and look for bad contacts.
