Low-heat & odd noises? Brand: Whirlpool Model Number: LEN2000LW0 Age: 1 - 4 years Whirlpool Electric Dryer (120/240v, 28A 60hz, 3 or 4 wire)
Model #LEN2000LW0
Serial# MM3809992
Type# DWSR-ELE-2406028-CV54 The other day I started up my dryer as I always do and for some reason it began making loud slamming noises as though the barrel was detached or something- or something was jammed. Now the only thing I could even think of was I lost a button in the wash somewhere a week ago so that IS possible. Is there a trap or something I can look in to find the offending particle? This may not even be the problem but it's somewhere to start.
I turned it off and left it be that evening. I knew it needed to be looked at, but we are renting the home & the owner lives in Haiti so any time there is a repair issue it is a real hassle (and a long time) to get it looked at, and finally, repaired. This is not because the owner is lax but due to distance & communication issues etc. So with this said.. I tested it out again with a towel inside, and although it sounded SQUEAKY a bit- it was now rotating normally and ALMOST as quietly as it had in the past. However.. the odd thing is it's taking longer to dry (to heat up maybe, because by end of load it's VERY hot inside) as though the heat isn't good enough- and worse- when I open it after hours of being empty- it's actually WET inside like moist?!? This worries me and I'm really hoping it's not an expensive repair that we'll have to cover out-of-pocket. I just had major surgery last month & we're still getting on our feet after paying for all of that. (Go figure. Back in the day you got a bill from the hospital AFTER surgery. Now you pay upfront lol) Any help is appreciated! If there is something I can do myself just to diagnose I'm glad to try it.... |
