Default Loud Vibration / Humming when Running
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DBSR453
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have owned a GE DBSR453 Dryer for about 3 years and within the last month the dryer begins to violently vibrate / hum when it is operating.

The clothes do dry and there are no issues with respect to the unit stopping or anything along the lines preventing it from doing its job.

The main issue is just the vibration that seems to come from the bottom portion of the unit. If you listen real close (jamming your ear to the unit) you do hear some minor cyclic humming within the overall vibration.

I am thinking it has to do with a bearing or some other component, as the dryer spins. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks...I just took apart the dryer, and found that the blower wheel is intact (with no broken fin pieces) and does not seem to be the issue.

After putting it back together I still get the vibration / humming. But now I also get a "tick" sound every revolution of the drum. Not sure if when I took it apart I did not align it properly.

It seems like the sound maybe coming from behind. Could it be the following:

1.) Slide drum - From the front
2.) Drum Bearing - From the front
3.) Heating Element Assembly - This from the back

Any help would be appreciated.
