Using a putty knife locate the clips in the front panel that hold the top on.

Push the clips to release the top.

Open the door and remove the two screws at the bottom of the opening in the dryer.

Remove the two screws along the top of the front panel.

Same challenge - a propane conversion. What if the dryer is an LDG5966G with a flat front panel to match the front loading washer? I found bracket/clips at the bottom of the front panel and the 2 screws when you open the door, but I can't find the clips under the plastic control panel at the top. Please advise.

Wink

If yours is the same as mine, the clips are not under the control panel; they are under the front of the top.
Use a stiff paint scraper, narrow, to feel under the top about 1.5 to 2 inches in from the corner; the clip should give a little as you push on it - when you push it in, it realeases the top which you can then lift.
The two screws holding the front are on the corners.
The lower clips are holders and do not need to come off (as I say, if yours is the same as mine).

Thanks for the response. In the case of my dryer, the plastic control panel is the upper front part of the dryer. It's not the style like my previous dryer with the control panel in the back. I found what I think are clips under the lower edge of the control panel about 2 inches from each side, but can not push them in with a putty knife.

Thanks for the response. I can confirm that your advice is accurate because I watched the authorized LG repair technician do just that (making me feel pretty stupid that it was something so obvious). Unfortunately I had already damaged a control wiring harness trying to follow a prior post on this subject that had me going in the front, but it was replaced under warranty so all worked out well (except for the 2 weeks without a dryer).
