Default Kitchenaid Dryer won't start
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KE/GYS700G
Age: 5 - 10 years

Our Kitchenaid dryer buzzes, but won't start. The drum moves freely if I spin it manually. There may be a slight electrical burning smell when I try to turn it on.

This may take two people
Open the door
Tape or hold the door switch closed
Push the start switch and give the dryer drum a push start in the right direction
Watch you knuckles!!!
If the dryer starts and runs, either the start winding in the motor is shot or the centrifugal switch on the motor is shot.

Could not find any info on this unit with the Model Number you listed
In any case you will have to open the unit up to check the motor.
On some older units you could replace just the switches, on most newer units the motor must be replaced.
Depending on the replacement cost and the dryer's condition, this is usually where I look for a new dryer.

The model is keys700g. It works when you spin it manually.
