Default Kenmore Series 70 Dryer
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.76712690
Age: 5 - 10 years

Our Series 70 dryer stopped heating and the timer stopped working. The blower works and the drum turns. I have checked the exhaust and it is not blocked. If I turn it to Air Dry I can get the clothes dry, but it will run indefinitely. I am wondering where to start. The controller?

Ok, this is a gas dryer. What I would do first is unplug the dryer, and take the back off, and look back there in the middle close to the bottom, and you will see a white piece, about an inch and a half long, and a half iinch wide, with two wires coming to it. Take the wires off, and put them together. Also put some tape around it so the terminals don't hit any metal, and then plug the dryer in, and turn it on. If it heats, replace that part. It is a thermal fuse. If not it is most likely the ignitor coil. If you need me I can be reached at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
