Default Kenmore 80 series - Model 110.60802990 - isn't heating properly
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.60802990
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi,

I have a Kenmore 80 Series dryer that has just stopped heating properly. At first I thought I just forgot to turn the dryer on, but when I turned it on the next time it did not dry the clothes. When I first turned it on I did open the door after a couple minutes and I could feel some heat, but after 40 minutes of drying the small load was not dry.

I've checked the lint trap and vent to the outside and there is not a clog.

I've spoken with some folks at the appliance stores and they said that if it heats at all it is not the the element? Is that true or could it be that the element is just starting to go bad.

If it is not the element, should I replace the thermofuse and thermostat?

Any advice you have to offere would be appreciated.

~ Thanks

Are you using the automatic feature? If so try drying in timed dry.If unit works in timed dry and not in auto dry then you could have a bad electrode sensor,or there is a little p.c. board in the head of unit that could be bad. Will need a multi-meter to test. Your heating element works or it dont there is no half way.
