Default Kenmore 72499 electric dryer
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 64672400
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi. Dryer was running night before. Went to operate it and the motor won't start. I can hear it hum but when you press the start button nothing. If you turn the knob to off, the buzzer starts and won't shut off unless you either unplug the dryer or, turn to know to a run cycle. I checked the motor and it's free spinning with no binds. The dryer does heat up even though the motor is not starting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

Sorry cannot find any ifo using the given Model Numbers

Sounds like both of the motor's centrifugal switches are being held closed for some reason.
One switches the start winding in and out. Also provides a path for the buzzer. The other switches in the heating element once the motors operating speed is reached.
