Default Instal Heat Coils
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: DLB2880AACWH
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Hotpoint Dryer Model DLB2880AACWH. I’m trying to see if someone can advise me how I change out the heat coils. The dryer has both side and back as one unit. The heat coils for this unit is a flex type coils (2 of them).

Can you please verify your model number?

Unplug the dryer.

If this is an older dryer open the door and remove the four screws that hold the top down.

In side you will fined a screw in each front corner holding the front panel on.

Remove the access panel at back an release the belt. Make sure you note how the belt goes on the idler and the pulley.

There is an access panel in the middle of the dryer that will give you access to the bearing and shaft. Remove the clip from the shaft.

Now using the belt as a handle lift the drum out the front of the dryer.

You will now have access to the heating element.

If you have no heat at all check your fuses first there are two that run the dryer.

If one is open the dryer will still run.
