Default Idler Pulley - Maytag Drier
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: ldg8604aae
Age: More than 10 years

Among other worn part I replaced the idler pulley. The idler pulley arm is skrewed into the motor frame and there is a spacer between the frame and the pulley arm. There is grease all over the skrew, specer, and bottom part of the pulley arm. Is this normal? Should I re-greas this when i put is back together?

Default

Do not know if this is normal
Someone may have added grease due to a squeaking problem or could be from factory
If the area was not clogged up badly with lint then I would re-grease it
I would not use an excessive amount

Usually there is not a lot of grease used in a dryer since it hold the lint but it would be a shame to have to pull it apart again in 6 months to fix a squeak
