My Maytag dryer just started making a squeaking noise. I suspect worn drum guides but my problem is I can't figure out how to open up the machine. I can't find any clips that secure the top lid, and I can't find any screws that secure the front. Does anybody know how to open this model?

Thanks for the help! One just has to remove the 2 hinge screws to remove the door, then remove the 2 screws on the opposite side, and the front panel comes off. I found the squeak was in the idler pulley, a drop of tuffoil took care of it.

If this is similar to my MDE6200AZW with the wrap around door try this.

1) Open Door and remove the 4 screws.

2) Pull the top of the panel towards you.

3) Jiggle the door hinges out of their slots and remove the door.

4)Tilt the front panel forward and lift it off the retaining clips at the bottom.

5) Locate the two clips at the top corners of the front frame and remove the screws. The clips may remain attached to the top.

6) Lift the top. The two plastic clips at the back act as hinges.
