Default How do I replace the motor
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.66952691
Age: 5 - 10 years

The motor is bad in my dryer and upon trying to replace the motor I discovered that the back and the bottom of the dryer are enclosed. I can not get to the motor through the front panel of the dryer. How do I get to the motor to replace it? A diagram would also be very helpful.

You will have to lift the top and remove the front panel.

There are two spring clip that hold the top to the front panel.

Use a putty knife to release the clips.

There will be a screw in the corners on the inside to release the front panel from the sides.

Remove the bulkhead.

Remove the belt from the motor pulley and use the belt as a handle to lift the drum out of the dryer cabinet.

You will have to remove the blower fan off the end the motor shaft and it is a left hand thread.

Remove the two clamps that hold the motor in place.

Here is a diagram of a dryer like yours but it is a commercial dryer so please do not order parts from this breakdown.

Here is a list of parts for your dryer model 110.66952691.
