Default How do I narrow down my part choice
Brand: Gibson
Model Number: GSE746RFS2
Age: 5 - 10 years

This dryer quit running during a cycle. I have narrowed down the parts required by testing the thermal cutoffs. There are three. The two in the back have only two prongs and test with full continuity. The one in the front in the blower housing (Part # PS417453) has four connectors. The two silver connectors test with continuity as well as the one brass connector that shares a jumper wire with one of the silver leads. The other brass connector tests as an open circuit or does not share continuity with any of the other connectors. Is this correct state for this thermostat or it the bad part? If this in not the culprit how would I check to see if the motor has gone bad? When I try to start the dryer the motor does not make any buzzing or humming noise usually associated with a bad motor. The only noise when trying to start the dryer comes from the timer and that is just a faint hum.
Thanks for any help

You probably have a blown thermal fuze, a small narrow white plastic thing on the blower housing.
