Default How do I check my thermometer for continuity
Brand: Frigidaire
Age: 1 - 4 years

The thermostat has four male connectors on it. One on each side and one at the top and the bottom. I disconnected all of the wires that lead to it and I get a reading on my multimeter of 0.3 ohms on the sides(with the lowest ohm reading setting of 10 that I can get on my multimeter), but no reading of the top connectors(it reads 1 which I think is infinity). Does this mean my thermostat is bad? My dryer will not heat up, so I am trying to trouble shoot all of the obvious problems. The glow ignighter doesn't even come on.

Some thermostats are single pole, double throw, i.e., when cold (room temp), there will be continuity between two terminals- common & normally closed. When the thermostat reaches a set temperature, then there should be continuity between common & normally open. Typically, there will be two thermostats in series with with valve coils and igniter, temperature cycling (either normal or low temp setting) and a hi limit thermostat. Do you have a wiring diagram?

Yes I do have the wiring diagram, but I don't know if I can read it properly.
