Default High Limit Thermostat - Where it attaches
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LEQ9858PW0
Age: 1 - 4 years

This is going to sound silly since I am the girl who took my whole bulkhead apart and replaced it and now I only have a few steps left putting it all back together.

Sheila, if you are there, you sent me the diagram to the bulkhead, big help.

I cannot find where the high limit thermostat goes back on to the heater element. I can't remember if I unscrewed this or slid it on somewhere. I found a spot where it looks like it goes but how does it attach? I have searched everywhere for a diagram and all I can find is that it attaches to the heater element.

Please help, I am so close to getting this all put back together and I am stuck.

THANK YOU!!

steph, Do you see where the wire hooks up to the element? just above it, you will see a whole the size of a half of a dollar. You have to slip one end of it enderneath the nipple, to hold it into place, and the other end has the metal attachement to it, hooks up the the other terminal on the heating element.

ok now I found a diagram where it looks like it goes into a hole that is on the blower fan housing. Does that make sense?

There is no hole on the heater element where it would go in. There is another thermostat already there. I was wondering if this was supposed to attach on TOP of that. bear with me here, thanks.

ok, I think I was talking about the cycling thermostat. Does this have a raised hole in the middle? If so, i think it goes in the blower housing.

The cycling thermostat should have 4 wires to it. It is to the left of the element. You will see the hole there. Put the tstat in the hole, and mount with 2 screws. Tom

ok, the hole in the blower housing, right? There are two holes in the bracket but one screw hole on the housing, but it fits, please confirm and I will keep going!
