Disregard cabinet now open - new issue - see next reply

I have an old Speed Queen that I believe the belt just broke on. I read the instructions on opening the cabinet but I'm not sure they apply to this model.
I removed 4 screws at the bottomof the front panel and though the bottom is loose, I'm hesitant to pull it up as it still feels tight at the top.

Can anyone tell me if I'm going about this the right way?

Also, I have not been able to find a part number for the belt of this model. If any one knows where i can find this information I'd be grateful

Thanks!

Unhappy Got the front off - but can't get belt around drum

well after figuring out that the online docs are almost worthless, we removed the front panel and the top. This is supposed to give us access to put the belt on. However, that is not the case.

The is a secondary front panel which appear to have the rollers on it that help the inner drum(where you actually put the clothes) to rotate smoothly. These rollers prevent me from being able to slip the belt around the entire drum. I thought I could work the belt between the drum and these rollers but utilitzing the access opening in the lower left of the secondary front panel. But I've found that the outer drum encompasses these roller preventing me from accessing them.

The only thing I can think of is to remove this secondary panel but that is alot harder than it may sound as it is attached to both side panels, has wiring attached to and of course the rollers.

Any ideas? I have a hard time believing that replacing a belt requires an entire tear down of the machine.

So how did you get the front off? Or should I open another thread on the same topic?
