Default Help needed to replace felt front seal
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDE8604ADE
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have to replace the felt front seal on my Maytag dryer. I am not certain how it goes back on. I don't think it appears that the old one was held on with adhesive. Are they suppose to be placed under those little tabs on the shroud? I haven't been able to see a diagram that shows this part very well. I would appreciate some help with this.

Thanks

Once you take the front off the dryer, you will see it alot better, make sure you glue it on well, and give it 24 hours before you turn the dryer on. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

I appreciate your response. I have the dryer apart. There does not appear to be any indication that adhesive has been used when the felt was originally installed at the factory. There is however a series of tabs around the shroud and I am guessing that the felt is placed in behind the tabs. I am not certain what happens after that. Any suggestions>

Here is a service manual
http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...s/16008714.pdf

Here is a parts breakdown
Maytag LDE8604ADE

Find the part you want to replace, click on the part number (blue print), another page should come up. Scroll down and quite often there is help from others who have used this part
