Brand: Maytag
Model Number: sdg505dawn
Age: 5 - 10 years

my gas dryer spins and fires then the fire goes out after 3 min when the ignitor comes back on the dryer wont fire again then i shut it off and turn it back on and it wont fire at all but the ignitor does come on i took everything apart and cleaned it and their was no change any suggestions of what to test and how would be greatly appreciated i have all tools needed i also checked the gas pressure on the main line and it was good

Replace the coils that let the gas in, one of then is worn out

Hi, just had the exact same problem with the same symptoms. Replaced the gas coils (they're a pair) for about $15.00 and it works like new. Even managed to do it without removing the dryer front panel, was able to reach the retaining bracket (2 screws) via the burner access panel. Good luck.
