I am sttempting to repair my dryer by myself. It will no longer heat. I think I know what to check, etc. If I could just get into the thing. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get it open???

amberly, what you need to do is of course unplug the dryer, and then get a screw driver, and put it under the top, in the front on the left hand side, and pop up the top on that side, and then do the same on the other side. Then lean the top all the way back to the wall, when you do that hold the lid, so it doesn't slam into the wall. Then where you put your screw driver to pop up the top, right there on the inside of the front, about 6 inches down, you will see a screw, take it out, and there will be one on the other side too. Take it out, and pull the front towards you, and up. Now you are in. If you need me for anything else, you can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

You are better off to use a putty knife to release the clips that hold the top down.

This way your are less likely to damage the paint.
