Default Help with electric dryer
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: Model: LER3624JQ2
Age: 1 - 4 years

When I turn the dryer on I can see the heating element glow orange but it dissipates 10 seconds later. Would that be the heating element or the thermostat or other? thanks in advance

Is the blower motor running and drum turning?

Sounds like your over-temp thermostat is tripping

Make sure the vent system is clean and operating correctly

Disconnect the dryer from the vent and run. Check that you have a strong blower output

If concerned about lint entering the house, take a pair of pantie-hose put one leg into the other and attach this to your dryer exhaust. Leave enough room so it can blow out like a windsock.

If dryer now runs OK you have a dirty or constricted vent system or the flap is not opening on the outside of the house. Could also be venting is clogged in the dryer.

If you have a low blower output the blower wheel may be loose on the motor shaft
