Default Help! Dryer sounds like it is screaming.
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FDE336RES2
Age: 5 - 10 years

Dryer started screaming several months ago, at first just a couple of sounds, now it begins when dryer is first started and then will stop after running for a little but starts back up. I purchased a new belt and idler pulley assembly and installed tonight but screaming was still there . The sound is like metal to metal, still dries the clothes but with alot of noise.

You have a ball and socket drum support. Need to pull drum and use high temp. grease on it or just replace it.

When mine did this I replaced the rear drum assembly and the gliders.

Default I have almost the same problem

My dryer did the same thing, but finally after months and months of screaming the drum stopped turning at all. I thought I'd follow all the advice you have given already, but do I also need to replace the belt now as well? And is the part called the 'drum glide' the same as 'the glides'?
Thanks!

I would think they are the same thing. Mine where three plastic pieces attached to a piece of felt. And I did replace the belt. Not sure if it was necessary but I figured i already had it torn apart I might as well.
