Default Help connecting wiring to heat element
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LER6620PQ
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi,
My husband works out of town so I have to DIY a lot. I took the back off my dryer this morning disconnected the heating element carried to local appliance parts store. The element was bad, got the correct part now I can't remember exactly which element goes where on the new part. Can someone help? I would surely appreciate it. I know the wires coming down from the top bundles are a red wire then and orange wire- from the bottom bundle there is one red wire. Confused on where these guys connect. Thanks in advance guys.
Lynn

It does look like it, but at the bottom is a white (two) prong plug type thing then the black knob type thing has a connector (at the bottom of the black pc. that I'm pretty sure the orange wire connects to).. then where would the red wire connect? My connectors don't seem to be going on in the same direction. I'm sorry i'm so ignorant with this. You're kind to help me. Thanks a lot.

Here is the wiring diagram. The color of the wires are marked on it.
See if that helps.

Whew!! I can't believe I got it. I had that little black knob part on upside down. I knew I couldn't be that dumb. I could have never got it without your help. You are great. Thank you, thank you, thank you. God bless you for helping others.
