Default Gotta be kidding me... (no start)
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: pye2300ayw
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a maytag performa dryer that just stut off on my wife in the middle of a timed cycle. I have checked all the standard stuff (power to unit, breaker, power at plug, etc.) I think it may be the thermal fuse? It acts like it has no power to it at all. I found the schematic but not sure what voltage/ohm readings should be across it. Or can i bypass it w/a fused jumper (for testing purposes only) Please help.

It is definetly the thermal fuse, and the high limit thermostat. If you pop the top up, and look in the back in the middle up top, and follow the white wires, that will take you to the thermal fuse. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
