Default General Maintenance for dryer
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 11086475100
Age: More than 10 years

This dryer works great and I've had it for 3 years. Due to its age and the fact that the original lint screen was ripped when I recieved the appliance I want to take some proactive steps to ensure its continued servicibility.
What suggestions do you have?

Do a through clean out. Is your lint screen on top of dryer? If it is pull out lint screen, remove the little screws there.Standing in front, reach around w/left hand, and pull firmly on the left rear of the top, at the same time pull up on left front corner w/right hand.that side pops up, do the same on right side.now lift the top and let it hinge back aginst the wall. Now look inside the front top corners, and remove right & left screws. tilt back & remove the little wires from door switch. now lift away the front panel. Reach under drum and disconect belt and remember how it was run on the belt tensioner pully, remove drum.
clean spotless. next turn around to the back of dryer, remove back cover, and on the lint chute there's 4 screws, bottom left looking at it, remove lint chute, and take out side and wash out with your garden hose good!! and vacuum out the blower fins ect. reassemble and don't let the felt seal on back of drum get folded or it won't work well Bettyboop
