Unhappy GE gas dryer no heat, timer doesnt work.
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DCL333GA0WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Like the title says one day the dryer wouldn't shut off and the clothes still wet.

The timer works with the Air Fluff ( no heat )cycle.

Then with the Heat cycles no timer and and no heat.

I looked around on here found some great info and took a shot at finding the problem. From the information I found on here I checked the Control Thermostat with an ohm meter and found the coil was bad, so I ordered a new one. I checked the new one and it was fine, I put it in and still no heat and no timer movement. I rechecked the old one and now it seems to be fine <--- Still on this.

I checked the High Limit Thermostat and the contacts are closed so I'm kind of stuck at this point. I'm not sure what to do next???

Please help.

Thanks

have you checked the heating element? They have a tendency to go out

This is a GAS dryer

After looking at the wiring diagram at work, I think I should be looking at the following... Igniter, Flame Sensor Switch and the Secondary Solenoid Valve coil and maybe the other two coils( Booster & Holding ). I'm not sure what the Booster & Holding do, neither the wiring diagram or operation sheet is very helpful with those two.

Thank You.

Well it's fixed.

It was the Secondary Solenoid Valve Coil. I used an Ohm meter and checked the continuity and it was open. Purchased a new one locally ( I will NOT purchase anything else from partselect ) and replaced it and it's working like new.

Beware and read the return policy before ordering and check your "new" parts carefully. My Thermostat had been opened and then re-taped.
