I have a GE DVL223 which is three years old. When I turn the start switch I hear a humming but the drum will not turn. I can turn the drum by hand and it moves freely. If I turn the start switch, turn the drum and push in the door button at the same time it will run. The problem is I only have two hands..........Thanks...

Something wrong with your motor.

It won't start without you completing the circuit and turning the drum by hand.

I bet it won't start with wet clothes in it and you doing the same.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to do it a couple times with clothes in the drum but of course it was heavy to turn so I took the clothes out. Since the first incident on Sunday I tried to start it several times and it works. I guess I will just chance it until it just quits completely. Thanks.
