Unhappy Ge Dryer Error Code E61
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DHDVH52
Age: Less than 1 year

Have brand new GE electric dryer. Delivered yesterday (June 6,2007) Electrician has connected power cord. Dryer is displaying an error code E61 on the digital display. Anyone know what this error code is telling me?

This problem has been resolved by a GE repairman. He came by and used his secret manual to clear the error code. That was it.

There may be some thing in your owner's manual that will tell you what the code is.

If the dryer will not work you should call for service.

I read the manual last night. No error codes listed. I searched GE websites for a list of error codes. None found. This is how I came across this website. Searching for Dryer error codes. Thanks

Crunch into Google "GE dryer error codes. Allready did that. Error code E61 is power connection error. Electrician also may have temporarily connected wires wrong and blew out the ERC. Black and red are the power wires, green case ground, white is power ground. Be carefull with, it the case may be wired to 115 volts!!
Open up the top of the dryer, you should find the service data sheet there.
That same error code is for a blown ERK If you find the dryer now wired ok, thats your problem, blown ERK.

Thank you for the information. I printed everything from the forum. Have a service technician scheduled to show up today. Will show him your input.
