Default GE DRYER - Dang it! Need dried clothes
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DBXR453EA1WW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Everything is Clean enough to eat off of! Dryer vent cleaned - thought that was the problem. The dryer is still running - heats just fine - a little to fine - it gets so hot than it shuts itself off - the clothes will never dry at this rate.

It this the thermostat? High temp switch? low temp. switch?

I have no way to test it! But if you can tell me the problem I can replace it.

THe sooner the better - she isn't happy at the moment - needs clothes dried.

Appreciate the help -

Platinum, That Tells Me You Only Cleaned It Partally. Did You Take Out The Lint Chute(the Part That The Filter Is In?) Open The Dryer And Thourghly Clean The Lint From The Motor?

To Test For Pluged Wall, Run With Vent Hose Off, If It Runs Better It Is A Plugged Wall Vent Pipe Bettyboop

Did allof the above. Totally clean the whole inside of dryer. took everything apart. the vent was clogged early . blew it out with lawn blower, done that before VERY EFFECTIVE. it worked for several days and then it started again. Blew it out again - nothing was in there - that is when I took apart the inside. Took out the drum checked all the moving parts -cleaned - put back together.

That is why I thought it was the Thermostat or something.

Does that sound like the problem- right now have to run on fluff - but WOW it takes the clothes a long time to dry.

Well If It's An Electric Dryer You've Ck Operating Thermostst And Hi Limit Thermostat, machine Is Clean. Only Think Of Try Heat Testing Oprating Thermostat And Hi -limitby Removing Them Hooking Them To A Continuty Test And Hold A Bic Lighter Flame On The Shiny Cup Shaped Part Should Get Hot And Open With A Click,if It Holds Continuty It Is Sticking And Will Get Hotter And Hotter Replace Thermostats If In Doubt Allways
