Default Gas Dryer Wont Start
Brand: Amana
Model Number: lg4409
Age: More than 10 years

When we try to start the dryer it gives a cross between a humming and buzzing noise from from inside the cabinet - not from the control panel - and will not start. This probably started a few days ago with a sound like this, but it would then start and run for about 10 minutes before stopping. We then had to wait a while for it to start again.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Default Motor Replacement

Thank you Betty. I suspected as much. The dryer does not run at all now. So my dilema now is whether is is worth fixing the machine. If I do decide to replace the motor, are there any other parts (belt, rollers, etc.) that it would make sense to replace now given that the machine is close to 15 years old? It has worked great up till this point, so I have no compalints in that regard.
