Default Gas Dryer - No Heat (Eaton Viking)
Brand: Other
Model Number: ED328W119
Age: More than 10 years

Have Eaton Viking gas dryer - model ED328W119.
It's original to the house - probably about 12 years old.
Don't have manual or any other information on the dryer.
It has no heat - turned on one evening and it was still running in the morning - no heat all night.
Used to be able to see orange glow reflected on floor from bottom right side in front side of dryer - can no longer see glow.
Assuming problem with ignitor? How do I get to it?
Anybody have suggestions?
(Had dryer appart and access to front - looking at gas valve but cannot see where ignitor is...)
Thanks for any help.
Dave

What cycle were you using on the dryer?

Have you tried using a different cycle to see if it will heat?

Is this a Canadian model?

Yes, we have three settings. Cottons, Delicate and Fluff (which has always been no heat) -- all do not produce heat. We have tried a variety of combinations using the timer and autodry selections and nothing has worked. We usually use the Delicate setting so I think this is probably the setting it was on at the time.

We are located in Canada so I would assume this is a Canadian model.

Any suggestions?

Because you dryer is a Canadian model I can not bring up a diagram.

The igniter is located on the burner.

If you watch when you start the dryer the igniter should glow.

If it does not you have an electrical problem.

Turn the gas off and check all the wiring.

Is the dryer the only appliance that is run off of gas?

If you require parts you can call GE Canada at 1-800-661-1616.

Although your dryer is a Eaton's model it was made by GE.
