Question Frigidare model #GLET1031CS0 makes a squeaking sound when running the dryer
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: GLET1031CS0
Age: 1 - 4 years

Please help!! my Frigidare Gallery Laundry Center model# GLET1031CS0 makes a squeaking sound when it is running. Ex. squeak, squeak, squeak. Like it is rubbing somewhere when it rotates around or something. It is a high pitched squeak. But it doesn't always do it just most of the time. It's loud enough that I will stop the dryer and wait until i leave the house to turn it back on!! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have been told that it may be the rollers that need to be replaced but I can't find anything that looks like a roller in the parts manual Frigidaire Manual Search Results
I thought about just spraying it down with WD40 but thats flammable and it will catch on fire!! But if this keeps up it will drive me crazy enough I might just light it on fire. Please help!!

Here is your units parts breakdown
Frigidaire GLET1031CS0

First thing to check is to make sure something has not lodged between the drum and the frame. Run your hand around the front and back of the drum along the seal

This unit does not have roller support, it uses a center support and these are known for squeaks. Remove the rear cover for the support. See Upper Cabinet Section. Remove the grounding clip, watch out for the ball bearing, they have a tendency to take off and hide on you. Oil the mechanism do not go crazy with the oil, do not use WD40 it is a lousy lubricant. If this removes or reduces the squeak, you have found the cause.

The only way to fix it for any length of time is to take it apart.
Check the mounting/bearing surfaces and re-lube it with high temp grease.
Again do not go crazy with the grease

Other possibilities are blower wheel, motor bearings and idler wheel. Also front glides if it has them.
While apart check everything (belt etc.), replace as necessary and give it a good cleaning. Aldo clean and check your vent system.
