Default Frigidaire dryer malfunction
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: LGQ1442ESO
Age: 1 - 4 years

This gas dryer won't start. The Cycle Signal and Pause/Cancel lights are lit and the Start light blinks. When I press Start there are three beeps with three flashes of lights. Will not reset or clear.

Heavy rugs were being dried on High heat when it died and I think they had a foam backing. No sign of melted foam in dryer or on rugs. Belt is sound. Vent is clear. Dryer just stopped.

When testing for errors, the damp light blinks every 5 or 6 seconds or so, no other blinks or beeps.

Thermistor? Dampness sensor? Control panel?

Help!

You will have to get the code that the dryer is giving you.

To view the error codes:

Position the Cycle Select Knob to the 3 o'clock position.

Press and hold the Select and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously for (6) seconds.

Immediately after, press and hold the Start and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously for (4) seconds.

Rotate the Cycle Select Knob to the 2 O'clock position

The Status indicator lights will flash the number of timers for the first digit of the code and the Start indicator light will flash the number of times for the second digit.

Here is link to your dryer model LGQ1442ES0.

I followed your procedure and get no code readout. Everything is blank and quiet when I turn to the 2 o'clock position. I can tell that the dryer brain is shifting modes while I do the button pressing (the 6 second/4 second thing).

I tested the thermostat and thermistor and both are good. No obstructions to airways.

Really up the creek here and appreciate your help greatly!

Unplug the unit leave it for a couple minutes and plug it back in
This may clear up your problem or at least let you into diagnostics
