Exclamation Flame for heat wont stay on
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 11097529100
Age: More than 10 years

I have a 12 year old Kenmore Gas Dryer model# 110-97529100. I start a load and the flame comes on to heat the air. It then cycles off, but not back on. I have checked all of the thermostats and the thermal coupler. They all test okay according to directions on this site. I already replaced the timer control assembly.

Is there a way to check the flame sensor??? I watch the ignitor glow, but then no flame. If I wait for the dryer to cool down, I get flame the first couple of times, then nothing. The dryer just runs and runs and never gets hot air or shuts off. Please, any assistance would be appriciated.

Check the resistance on the gas valve.

On terminals 1 to 2 you should have 1365 ohms.

On terminals 1 to 3 you should have 560 ohms.

On terminals 4 to 5 you should have 1220 ohms.

If you do not get these reading you will have to change the valve.

Here is a link to the parts of your dryer model 11097529100.
