Default Extended Dryer Cycles, Argh!!!
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LER3624EQ1
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have straightened and shortened the dryer vent and verified that the duct is unobstructed inside. The 5400 watt heater is pulling 24 Amps, but shuts off due to the exhaust thermostat. The diagram states that the exhaust thermostat should cut-out at 150 or 155 deg F. The exhaust temp reaches 170 and resets at about 130. So there seems to be a discrepency between what's in the dryer and what's on the diagram. The inside of the tumbler reaches 250 deg F before it is cut off by the exhaust thermostat. Why must I run my dryer twice to dry my clothes?

Sincerely,
Frustrated Homeowner

Have you taken the lint filter & lint chute out yet? almost every one that I've taken apart is partialy clogged with hard packed lint. this will cause hi temps and eventially burn out motor.
