Default Electric Dryer - Heating element turns off
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LER7646EQ2
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Whirlpool Electric Dryer (model LER7646EQ2) that tumbles fine but the heating element turns off after about 15 seconds. It also smells a bit like something is burning.

The thermal fuse was replaced about 2 months ago, the vent system is completely clean and I have also run the dryer with the vent disconnected. Seems to be blowing plenty of air. Could this be a thermostat issue??

Any help would be appreciated - In advance, thanks!

Default

If it take 10 minutes or so to reset, so you can run it your motor is probably overheating
It sounds more like your run thermostat is the culprit and the high limit thermostat is shutting the heater off. Should reset after a couple minutes.
