Default Electric Dryer doesnt heats up but runs
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 66822692
Age: More than 10 years

Hello
My dryer doesnt heat but it runs. I have checked the element and all the thermostat and all seem to be 0ohms except the dryer cycle themostat which i get a high reading of about 3k on one set of the pins and i did disconnet the wire before checking for contunity. So does it meant it's bad

Check the outlet to make sure you are getting 240v.

Check the wire were the cord goes in the dryer.

It could be the timer contacts.

I am not sure of the resistance reading.

Normally the thermostat will stick closed and cause the dryer to overheat causing the thermal fuse to open.

Ok the dryer work after checking the outlet but now it is taking twice the drying time to dry.Wht could be wrong?

Check that you did not crush the vent when you put the dryer back.
