Default Dryer buzzer sounds when start button is pushed
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDE4000AGW
Age: More than 10 years

I could use some help figuring out my dryers problem. It started out with a noise while it was running. The belt was shot so I replaced that. The heating element went out so I replaced that at the same time.
It worked great I thought until I put some dry sheets in to fluff. It started making a constant squeeling noise but only when the sheets were in. Thats problem #1

The other problem that just started is when I turn it to the air dry, cool down, or less heat and push the start button the buzzer sounds but the dryer does not start. It only seems to start on the heat cycle. Could this relate to something that may have happened when I installed the element.
I appreciate your comments. Ps. the correct model # is LDE4000ACW

Default

The squealing noise is either the idler pulley or the support rollers.

There is only two wires on the element so there is no why that you can do any thing to that to make the buzzer go off when it is set to air dry unless you had other wires disconnected.

Check your wiring with the wiring diagram.

Here is a link to your dryer model LDE4000ACW.
