Cool Duet Dryer panel works but won't run
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: GEW9200LW
Age: 5 - 10 years

Help. Dryer panel works but the light doesn't and it won't turn on. A "PF" message comes on but when I hold down the START button it doesn't help. I have turned on and off my circuit panel and unplugged the dryer to no avail. I can set the panel for drying minutes but when I push the start is just beeps and the minutes flash. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

It might be your thermal fuse it is located on the dryer vent housing it is white in color, and has to wires coming to it, and is held in by two 1/4inch screws. Take the three torx screws out from the lower panel, and then look in hard left, and you will see it. Bring a flash light. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

Get a volt meter and check the voltage at the plug.
Make sure you have 220 volts and also both sides read 120 volts to the Neutral
Also is it a 3 wire or a 4 wire hookup?

You can get a decent digital multimeter for under $20.00. You do not need fancy though it is nice if the leads are a couple feet long. If it saves you ordering one unnecessary part it has paid for itself.

I do not have a wiring diagram for this unit so it is difficult to troubleshoot
Did find this on another site "Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display and completely cancel the cycle"

Default Dryer panel works but won't turn on

Thanks so much for the replies. I have taken it apart and found the manual. The display is showing an "3E" which according to the manual a "3" means it has to do with something in the electronics that needs replacing. At this point I am feeling like I need to call in a service person that comes with parts to replace whatever the faulty part is. I did take the bottom front panel off but the large black oval thing makes it impossible to see anything around it. I did look to the left and right of it but still can't seem to see a white fuse. Am I right to assume that the fuses do not reset themselves but need replacement if they tripped? I must admit that there was an abundance of lint inside the dryer I guess I never thought about taking it apart and cleaning the inside before.
Thanks Again
