Default Dryer Wont turn on
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.86879800
Age: 5 - 10 years

I just bought this dryer a week ago from a friend. Now it won't turn on. The timer still goes, and it still heats, but it won't tumble or blow air. When I push the button and it is set on a cycle it just doesn't do anything. When it is in the off position and I push the button it buzzes. I don't think it is the start switch, and like i said it still heats, and the timer thing still works on it. Also the light inside works on it, and when i press the door switch it turns on and off also so i don't think that it is the door switch either. I was drying a queen size comforter when this happened and I thought maybe it over heated. I am not sure what it could be, and i don't have any meters to do the testing on it, and i don't have the money to call a repair man in. Can anyone help?

A dryer cannot make heat, if the motor won't run, the safety switch in the start switch stops the heater, when the motor stops. If not you could burn out the element or your house. If you are getting heat with the motor off, then the safety points could welded together keeping the heat on.
Did you check the thermal motor fuse on the blower housing? If it is blown, the motor won't run!
