Default Dryer won't stop on auto dry
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDG9316BWQ
Age: 5 - 10 years

The dryer dries clothes fine when it's on timed dry, but on auto dry the timer never advances. I read through some related threads here and on other sites, and so I cleaned out the vent (not much there; I do clean it out from time to time), and replaced the cycling thermostat, but the problem persists.

I have a wiring diagram, but it only shows how the wires connect everything together - it shows which lugs and which color wires, but not the electrical components, like relays, switches, etc. So I can't really tell what voltage to expect where.

Any help on how to figure this out is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

Default

sounds like the dryer may not be getting up to the temp. to cycle the timer. could be the high limit on the burner box is tripping and if it is it could be lint build up on blower wheel or bad drum seals
