Default Dryer won't stay running longer than 15 seconds
Brand: Amana
Model Number: NDA8805AYW
Age: 1 - 4 years

My dryer won't stay running longer than 15 seconds- was told it is the
control panel- shouldn't it last longer than 1 yr.? We did have an ice storm
during the time I started drying clothes, but continued when electricity came
back on- could this elec. surging have anything to do with my problem??

If the dryer ran fine after the storm then it was not likely effected by it.

Can you please verify your model number as I can not locate it in our database?

When you say it will not run more then 15 second are you saying that as soon as you let go of the start button it stops running?

Here is a link to your dryer model NDE8805AYW.

It sounds to me like it is the control board. There is a relay on the board, that is not staying in Tom T. PAONE's APPLIANCE SALES & SERVICE GUIDE

When you say will not stay running does everything shut off

My guess is your door switch
It closes but not properly
The dryer starts and the switch opens from the vibration and shuts your unit down
Leave the door open and manually hold the switch closed to see if it will run

Worth a try, quick & easy
