Default Dryer won't start after overworking it
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: WED5700SW
Age: Less than 1 year

Hi Everyone,

We bought this dryer less than six months ago and lately it hasn't been drying things as quickly as it did at first. A few days ago I attempted to dry a large pillow that was very wet and I should have tried to squeeze more water out of.. (not smart, I know )
The dryer would work for five or ten minutes then cut out. I restarted it several times until it wouldn't start and the light didn't even come on. I left it alone and gave up on the pillow. A couple hours later it worked again but when I tried drying a regular load it stopped working again and it hasn't come back from the dead yet.

The light won't come on even. Any ideas on what the problem could be? We just bought this thing ..

Default

Turn your breaker on/off a couple times slowly
Or better yet measure the plug to make sure you have 220 volts at the plug
Also check that your vent system is clean and the exterior vent flap operates correctly. This will prevent the service tech from blaming the fault on you and charging you for the call.

If you have 220 then place a service call, it should be under warranty

If you mess with it you may void your warranty.

Thanks for the reply denman!

Thankfully it was only a bad power cord so we're back in business! Woohoo!
