Default Dryer Won't Start
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LSE7806ACE

Help for a newbie...I have a Maytag Dryer which instead of starting when I push the button, makes a "buzzing" noise. Is there a reset on the motor? Could it be a fuse? This is a washer/dryer combo unit so if I have to replace one I have to replace both. Please HELP

It does sound like it's your motor.

Here's the part that could be causing your problem:

And here's a link to the section of your dryer where I think the problem might be:

Sheila,
Thanks so much for your reply. It makes sense to me that this is what it would be. Can you tell me the knowledge base one should have to replace this motor? As I stated I am far from an expert, but am willing to give it a try. Again thanks for you help.

If you are a do-it-yourself kind of person then it should be no trouble.

Sheila,
After a month(I don't do anything in a hurry), I took the back off the dryer. In the lower left corner of the cabinet there is a wiring housing. This is where the main wiring comes into the unit. In that area there is a terminal with three wiring terminals attached. One of these(far left one) has come unattached from the unit and a yellow wire which was attached to that connection has come off. Looking at the wire it appears to be brownish/black near the end which I would think indicates some kind of shortage. Do you replace this entire unit? Why would the wire have burned off? Is this maybe over my head and I should call in the "troops"? Thanks,
John
If needbe I might be able to get a photo of this to you.
