Default Dryer won't start
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 11060092990
Age: 5 - 10 years

We've had may problems with this dryer since it was gifted to us (used) We only had it about a year and a half and it has had the electronic control board replaced twice.
Right now it won't start. It was working fine. There is power to the dryer. I was told that it could be the thermal fuse. I understand from other sites that the parts list is not correct. It doesn't show the thermal fuse. It shows two thermisters and the thermal cut off
The fuse was checked and tested okay. I found on another site that it could still be the thermal fuse - they sometimes test okay but are not.
If it is the thermal fuse, does anyone have the proper part #

The part # is 3390719. It is located on the vent tube on the front. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

Tom,

I jumped the thermal fuse and door switch just to see if I could get it going. Since the I didn't get to the parts store today
I checked for power coming into the panel and its okay.
Nothing worked
Could it be the electronic control board again? It was just replaced a few months ago.
Appreciate you help

Thanks

Don

Don, if you jumped out the door switch and the thermal fuse, and it does not come on, and you have 240 volts coming to the back of the dryer where the plug comes in, then yes you need a new board. If you just put one in 2 months ago, I would seriously consider not repairing it. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Tom,

Thanks for the advice. If I have to end up buying a new dryer. Any suggestions on a brand and model that you've had good experience with?

Thanks

Don

Don, have we learned our lesson on buying a dryer with electronics? Actually kenmore is made by whirlpool, and that is what I would buy. Don, just keep it simple. Tom
