Unhappy Dryer won't spin
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: heavy duty 86165100
Age: More than 10 years

about a week ago I put an old rug in the dryer and when it came out I realized that the backing had crumbled up and come off, and a bunch of it was in the lint trap - little specks of dried rubber...

Anyway, I figured it wasn't a big deal and proceeded to dry the next two loads I was washing - it worked fine, even though there were more of those little crumbles in the lint trap with each load.

But today I washed a load and put it in the dryer and it goes on and heat is coming into it, but it won't spin at all - it's a front loader.

It's been a great dryer since it came with the house I bought 8 years ago - never a problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

It sounds like the belt either broke or came off the pulley.

Here is a link to the parts of your dryer model 11086165100.

Thanks for the help - I have a working dryer again for under $20, when I was afraid I would have to replace it!

You are awesome, and the part was shipped so fast!
