Red face Dryer won't heat

I have exactly the same problem on a Kenmore 110.86873800. I have checked all thermostats and fuses. The heating element has correct continuity according to listed specs.

I would also be very interested in a solution.

I am having somewhat of the same problem with my kenmore 70 series dryer. My heating element was old and repaired many times, times it should have been replaced. It finally got to where it would get to hot and blew the thermal fuse on the back of the vent housing. I replaced the thermal fuse and the old element, but it didn't work. The dryer runs, but the element won't heat. I still had the old element laying around and decided to hook that one up to see if it still would heat up, it did. i thought Lowe's may have sent me a faulty element, so I called and complained and recieved another element, still didn't work. My old element works, but will get too hot if I leave it on and will blow a thermal fuse, new ones won't heat up. What's the problem?

Heating elements do not control them selves! cars do not control them selves, your big foot on the gas pedal does! So operating thermostats control what the element works at, an old thermostat can wear out, and have continuity, but run way too hot, so then the hi-limit thermostat shuts down the current to element.
But the hi-limit can only do this so long till it fails to do it's job so then the thermal cut off blows it' fuze and no heat. If your element gets too hot, replace the thing that controls it! does this make any sense?

On your defective new heating elements, they are probably the wrong ones to start with, this is a big problem hear in my area, there two elements that look alike and Lowes are not appliance and parts experts, just ask Shiela!!

My old heating element was broken, and I just twisted the coils together to complete the circuit. So it needed to be replaced, however, it will still heat up if I plug it in, I just don't leave it in for a long time so it doesn't blow my new thermal fuse. The new ones won't heat up. I know there is electricity flowing through them because I accidently touched the coil while it was plugged in and shocked myself. Could it be that it is the wrong part, and how do I figure that out?

I havn't checked the thermostats, or anything on the motor, I don't know how to get to it. It's been about three weeks without a dryer, it's not fun at all!
