Default Dryer Won't Heat
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDE8500
Age: 5 - 10 years

We have a dryer that just stopped heating. It has been great. I checked the circuit breaker and all is fine there, what are my first steps in getting our clothes to dry??

Any help would be appreciated!

Don

If you unplug the dryer, and take the front off, you will be able to see the element housing. If you have a ohm meter, check the element. This is a oldy but goody dryer. I would repair it. It could also be the thermostat, that is on top of the heater housing. That is the high limit thermostat. If you need me, you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com, and I could give you more instruction. Tom

Thanks! I tested the element and it had a break in it. I bought and installed a new coil today and it works like a champ! Thanks for the help!
