Its probably the heating element, pretty common problem with this style element. You have to pull your drum to get to it, its in a pan back behind the drum. If it is bad you'll usually be able to see the break in the coil somewhere on it.

Here's your parts list and breakdowns...

wer211es Parts List

If the element looks good after close and careful study it probably is good, but you can check it just to be safe with an ohm meter, it should read close to zero ohms across the two terminals (wires off) and then nothing at all on your meter from each terminal to the metal body (ground).

If thats ok then test with your meter the "Thermal Limiter" the "High Limit Thermostat" and the "Thermostat".

Might want to take a careful look at that "Drum Support Bearing" on the back. Its a plastic piece that a metal ball supporting the drum rides in. I've seen when people overload the dryer this plastic piece wears out, causing the drum to drop and break the heating element. If it looks worn replace it as well, hate to put a new element in and just ruin it as well if this was the cause of your problem.

All of this is shown with part numbers in that link.

Bob, before you take the whole dryer apart, you might do two things. Check your breaker, and make sure it is not partially tripped, because if it is, the dryer will still run but no heat. Voltage is lazy, it will follow the path of least resistance, and go to the motor. The other problem with this products is it tends to burn the wires up and the terminal block where the plug comes into the dryer. Check those things first, and then follow Mr Ampdraws procedures. If you need me you can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

If your breaker is tripped your still going to need to open the dryer up and check everything to find the short that caused the breaker to trip in the first place. It does happen, but its extremely rare that a breaker would just trip for no reason. A tripped breaker is an absolute indication of a positive problem somewhere that needs to be found and solved.

Not always true. Are you saying that a breaker never goes bad due to age? I know I come accross it on my daily service calls. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

I'm saying...

A breaker bad from age (or even brand new) happens all the time, this is still an indication of an absolute problem that needs to be found and solved. I've also seen the buss bar the breaker is mounted to become pitted and cause breakers to continually trip under just low loads, still a problem that needs to be found, solved and fixed. So all I'm saying is a breaker will never trip for no reason, there is ALWAYS a reason, always. Just resetting a tripped breaker is not a fix, many home owners often just reset breakers and never understand there is always a reason this has happened and they absolutely need to look into why it happened in the first place.

Yes, Mr Ampdraw. When a customers breaker trips, there is a problem. Could be all the things you said, but my question to you is, when you find this problem, when you are running service calls, on a dryer that is tripped, do you tear apart the whole dryer, to see if there is a problem inside the dryer, and charge the customer the labor to do so. Or, are you a licenenced electrician also and tear into the breaker box? Where does it end?

I don't just reset the breaker and call it fixed. This is a Home Owner Do It Yourself person here not me on a service call. The last residential appliance repair company I worked for in Vegas had a contractors license, including HVAC and Electrical and we did all repairs, primarily for home warranty companies, including troubleshooting and repairing weak breakers and burnt buss bars on the breaker panel itself.

If a breaker is tripped I locate the cause of the trip, what ever it takes and what ever the customer wants, what ever needs to be done. But I would never just reset a breaker and call it good.
