Default Dryer will tumble but won't get hot
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LE5800XMW1
Age: More than 10 years

Dryer tumbles but will not heat up. Heating element is intact. I'm not sure if it is one of the 4 thermostats or the thermal fuse. How do you tell if the thermal fuse is blown and what should the thermostats read if I test them.

If you are using an analog meter the needle will go to the right is the fuse is good and will not move if the fuse is bad.

It is the same the cycling thermostat.

The cycling thermostats may check good but may not be opening when hot to cut the power to the element.

This would cause the dryer to operate on the high limit thermostat attached to the heating element housing.

This may have caused the thermal fuse to open.

Also check the vent for blockage.

Here is a link to your dryer model LE5800XMW1.
