If it is totally dead, you need a thermal fuse kit. The thermal fuse is on the right hand side of the heater housing, and has 2 white wires coming to it. If you want, unplug the dryer, and take the two wires off of the thermal fuse, and put them together, and wrap some black tape around it, and plug the dryer in and turn it on. I'm sure it will work, but do not run the dryer without replacing the thermal fuse. There is no protection. This is just a way to see if that is the problem. The thermal fuse will come with the thermostat that is on top of the heater. I do believe your real problem is a clogged vent. Check your vent outside, you should get a good amount of air. If not, the vent needs to be cleared. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom |
